A History of Innovation

1984 Our business began in Bantam, Connecticut, as a healthcare division of PTC Aerospace.
1985
Our first Plated Retherm Meal Delivery system for healthcare patients was introduced on the market.
1986 We moved our operations to Charlotte, North Carolina.
1989 We became an independent company and began operating as À la Cart, Inc.
1991-93 We invested significant resources to redesign our Plated Meal Delivery System, including development of the blow-molded cart still in use today.
1997 Our Plated Retherm system became known as System II, with the addition of state-of-the-art software in the controller chiller unit.
1998
We introduced our first Satellite & Serve Bulk Retherm food delivery systems.
2000
The Mini SatServe unit was introduced.
2000

We introduced our CMCS (Centralized Management Control System). Used with our Plated Meal Delivery Systems, CMCS allows operators to monitor and control all carts from a single, remote location.

2001
The SatServe Serving Carts were added to our Satellite & Serve line.
2002 À la Cart launched the Multi Tech, Chill Tech banquet carts. With the Multi Tech Cart, we introduced our revolutionary Conduvection heating system, which combines convection and conduction heating for unparalleled food quality.  We also introduced the Temp Watch the wireless system that continuously monitors food temperatures; it can be used with hot and cold serving systems, refrigeration/freezer systems and food preparation areas.
2004

À la Cart launched the Conduvection plated meal delivery system, which offers all the advanced features and advantages of System II, with the added benefit of conduvection heating.

2006

We introduced our groundbreaking Dual Temp 120 for health care operations that use conventional food preparation. This mobile meal delivery cart also acts as an on-site heating and refrigeration unit and
can plug into any 120 V/20 amp outlet.

2007 With the Conduvection Serving Cart, À la Cart provided operators with exceptional service versatility. This mobile refrigeration-retherm-heating/service system, with built-in serving area on top, performs a wide range of functions and uses conduvection heating for outstanding food quality.
